Name: Doh (If asked, first name is given as John. This is not his real
name).


Position on ship: Bartender at the White Star Lounge, which he owns.

Age: 49


Parents: Doh never knew his parents, and grew up as an orphan in a home on
Earth.


Appearance: Slightly rotund, with a mop of brown hair on his head that
sometimes seems unmanageable. He has blue eyes, and is 6 foot 3.


Significant others: None. He runs the bar with his old friend from England,
Michael Petersen, or Mike. (My friend shall, with luck, be applying to join
the sim, and she will play my teenage waitress.)


Background: At the age of 18, Doh entered Starfleet Academy and studied
Astrophysics. He joined the USS Excalibur as Junior Science Officer, working
his way up to Chief Science Officer, as well as First Officer. He then spent
a few years aboard the USS Pegasus as its Captain, before being promoted to
Admiral, and reassigned to a Federation outpost, Starbase 38. He spent a few
years here before moving on to take an advisory position aboard Starbase 12,
home to a training group known as Task Force 92. It was here that he fell in
love with a Trill, Ensign Royndd, and decided to quit Starfleet and explore
the universe with her.

Doh spent 2 years exploring, and picked up many ancient artefacts and much
knowledge of ancient cultures along the way. He returned to Task Force 92
looking for help when Royndd was shot, and they were able to perform a
joining ceremony in time. His new partner, Lt Ward, allowed him to
experience a new strength in their relationship. When Task Force 92 was
relocated to the USS Majestic, the civillian Doh and Lt Ward moved to the
ship, where they opened a bar, the Starlight Lounge, named by Ward herself,
12 hours before she left Doh without leaving so much as a note, and without
reason.

Doh began to spiral toward alcoholism, and had brief relationships with an
alcoholic teenager, and an religious fanatic, who ended up taking her own
life in a failed attempt to destroy a Bajoran place of worship on board the
ship.

It was as Doh was about to take his own life that a very old friend, Michael
Petersen, turned up on board the ship and helped Doh get back on the right
road, and away from alcoholism and depression. They ran the bar successfully
for 3 years before the ship was decommissioned, and they heard of a vacancy
aboard the newly commissioned USS Phoenix. Eager to stay in a routine, Doh
negotiated with Starfleet, and within a month he was in charge of the
White star Lounge, named in honour of his former lover, who he still hopes
will return to him one day. Mike remains aboard as a roommate to Doh, and
they can often be heard late at night after the bar has closed reminiscing
about old times.


Personality: Doh is a friendly, unassuming person, with a sharp mind and a
thirst for knowledge, as well as a good listening ear. This enables him to
become a good friend to many of the crew, as well as a close confidante to
the Captain.


Special Skills: Although, as a human, Doh has no physical special skills, he
has a concise knowledge of many ancient cultures that most members of
Starfleet dont even know ever existed. As such, he will often be asked for
his advice in certain situations.

During his time exploring, as I mentioned before, Doh picked up many alien
artefacts, several of which he is still attempting to work out the function
of. These may become very useful to the ship and its crew in future
adventures.
